Ingredients

Let’s see the ingredients we need for this recipe

  • 3 1/3 cups Type 2 flour
  • 1/3 cup corn oil
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 1 packet vanillin (or vanilla paste)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 orange zest (grated)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • as needed pine nuts
  • as needed chia seeds
  • as needed chocolate sprinkles

Tools

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Pastry board
  • 1 Fork
  • Parchment paper

Steps

  • In a bowl, I started mixing the sugar and the grated zest of a whole orange. Use your hands or a fork for this operation.
This way, the aromas and oils contained in the orange zest will be released and perceived even more intensely in the cookies.

Having done this, add the oil, milk, a pinch of salt, vanillin, and baking powder, and continue mixing the ingredients well with the fork.

Now incorporate the flour by sifting it slowly and continue working with the fork until the dough is no longer soft, and let your hands finish the job.

You will get a nice soft and smooth dough that you will let rest a little in a cool place.

Take the dough again that has rested for about half an hour and break off pieces (I usually weigh them to have them more or less all the same and achieve a more even baking) and form balls in your hands that you will flatten slightly on the surface, where they will then host the decoration.

I decorated with pine nuts, seeds, and sprinkles or chocolate chips.

  • Once ready, place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat and bake at 355°F in a preheated fan oven, for about 15 minutes.
Take them out and enjoy this simplicity

You can store the cookies for a few days in a tin box or airtight glass biscuit jar.

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
