Turkey Slices alla Pizzaiola

in

The turkey slices alla pizzaiola are a light yet flavorful second course.

I love to prepare them this way as an alternative to red meat, which I try to eat carefully and rarely.

The white meat, tender and juicy, gently cooks in the sauce of bull’s heart tomatoes, meaty and sweet, enriched by the scent of oregano and the bold taste of olives.

A dish that evokes the aromas of pizza, could this be why I never tire of preparing them?

It remains a dish with the delicacy of a homemade preparation, perfect for a simple and genuine lunch.

  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Fork
  • 1 Knife

Steps

  • Wash the bull’s heart tomatoes, remove the seeds and cut them into cubes.

In a large pan, add the tomatoes, the garlic cloves, chopped or whole, the olives, basil, and oregano.

Cook for a few minutes, until they start to release their juice, and only then add the extra virgin olive oil.

If you prefer, you can add the oil at the beginning and sauté with tomatoes and garlic.

    Salt lightly.

Arrange the turkey slices in the pan, cover them with the sauce, and cook over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes, turning them once.

Continue cooking until the meat is done.

It will take about 25/30 minutes, which may vary depending on the thickness of the meat.

At the end of cooking, remove the garlic if you don’t like it, and if you wish, add a grind of pepper.

  • The white meat alla pizzaiola is a delicious second course that will win over even the little ones.

My recipe is light, without having to sauté anything, allowing even children to eat healthily, genuinely, and above all, appetizing.

If you remake it, I look forward to your feedback.

    Enjoy your meal

Storage of Turkey Slices alla Pizzaiola

Let the dish cool completely.
Place it in an airtight container (better if with its sauce).
Store in the refrigerator at +39 °F for 1–2 days.
The tomato sauce helps keep the meat tender.

When reusing them, heat:

In a pan: over low heat, adding a tablespoon of water if the sauce has thickened.
In the microwave: covered, at medium power, stirring the sauce halfway through.
Avoid reheating too long, so they don’t become dry.

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
