If you prefer to make the cookies with a different shortbread, I recommend the hazelnut shortbread for its unique taste.

Steps for Easy Halloween Cookies

  • To prepare the easy Halloween cookies recipe, pour the flour into a large bowl, add the cold butter from the fridge in small pieces and start kneading with your hands.

  • Then add the whole egg and one egg yolk with 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, finally the powdered sugar and a pinch of salt. Knead all the ingredients to create a nice soft dough. Roll out the shortbread on a sheet of parchment paper and create a sheet about 0.2 inches thick, cover it with cling film and place it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

  • After the time has elapsed, take the shortbread out of the fridge and cut out the Halloween cookies. I made lots of cute pumpkins, but you can use other cookie cutters if you like.
Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes, baking time and oven temperature are always indicative, you should always adjust based on your oven.
Once ready, let them cool and to make them even cuter, just brush some powdered glitter coloring. Enjoy your Treat!
