Halloween Jack Skellington Cookies are a delicious and stylish tribute to Jack Skellington, the iconic Pumpkin King from Tim Burton’s animated masterpiece, The Nightmare Before Christmas. They are the perfect choice for the spookiest night of the year, combining the gothic charm of the character with irresistible sweetness.
These cookies are surprisingly simple to prepare and make a fantastic project to do with kids: a spooky activity that turns into a joyful moment.
The base is a fragrant vanilla-flavored shortcrust pastry, and the filling can be customized as desired. I used a classic and lively red cranberry jam for a “bloody” effect, but for those who want a more intense note, they can fill it with chocolate cream.
After baking, the final touch is a luscious white sugar glaze, used to recreate Jack’s unmistakable skeletal expression. It’s the simplicity of the black lines drawn with a piping bag that makes these cookies so striking.
Let’s now prepare 🎃 Jack Skellington Cookies: The Sweet Encounter of Fear and Vanilla! 💀

Steps for Halloween Jack Skellington Cookies
In a bowl, add the flour and cold butter pieces and start kneading with your hands. Once you have a sandy mixture, add the whole egg, egg yolk, powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, and vanilla extract.
Mix all the ingredients well and form a smooth dough, roll it out on a sheet of parchment paper, and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
After the time has passed, take our dough and cut out cookies with a round cutter, using a piping nozzle to create eyes and a nose. “Remember that the cookies will be stacked, so only the top cookie will have eyes and nose cut out.”
After preparing all the cookies, place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and bake them at 340°F for about 8/10 minutes; once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a rack.
In the meantime, let’s prepare the glaze: in a bowl, add the egg white and gradually the powdered sugar with a few drops of lemon, using a whisk to make a soft and smooth glaze.
Once ready, glaze only the cookies with eyes and nose cut out and let them dry.
Take the unglazed cookie and spread jam on top, then stack the glazed cookie on top. Now it’s time to create the mouth. Melt the dark chocolate, put it in a piping bag, and voilà, let the chocolate dry for a few minutes, and our Jack Skellington is ready to celebrate Halloween.
Enjoy your monstrous treat!
