Homemade Muesli, or granola, is a crunchy mix of cereals and dried fruits. It’s great for pairing with milk and yogurt, but especially for enjoying a healthy breakfast. The cereal mix can also be enriched with fresh fruit and chocolate chips, depending on taste. Easy and quick to prepare, it can be made in many variations by adding preferred seeds or other ingredients.

Homemade Muesli Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups oat flakes
- 1/2 cup walnuts (or hazelnuts)
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup wildflower honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
- 1/4 cup water
Tools
- 1 Pan
- 1 Spoon
- 3 Bowls
- 1 Wooden Spoon
- 1 Baking Tray
- 1 Spatula
- 1 Parchment Paper
Homemade Muesli Steps
To prepare homemade muesli, first rinse the raisins with fresh water. Then coarsely chop the almonds and walnuts.
In a large pan, pour the honey, water, brown sugar, and sunflower oil.
Mix all the ingredients well and place them on the stove over low heat, cooking for at least 5 minutes, always stirring. We must obtain a well-mixed syrup.
Once the syrup is ready, remove it from the heat and add the oat flakes, along with the mix of almonds, walnuts, and dried fruits.
Using a wooden spoon, mix the ingredients well and make sure all the syrup is incorporated. Then spread the muesli onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper, distributing it well with a wooden spoon.
Toast in the oven at about 340°F (170°C) in the central part of the oven for at least 30/35 minutes, turning it occasionally. It will be ready when it has a nice golden color, so always adjust according to your oven in terms of time and temperature. Once ready, let it cool completely at room temperature; then it can be stored in a glass jar or a tin box. A real treat, a nice indulgence!

Storing Homemade Muesli
Homemade muesli can be stored in a glass jar with an airtight seal or a tin box. It should not be stored near heat sources, but in a dry place. It stays nice and crunchy for 10/15 days.
You can vary between the mix of cereals and fresh fruit you prefer, and if you like, you can add dark chocolate chips after baking. Try it in yogurt with the addition of fresh fruit as well.
If you prefer the raisins and cranberries to remain soft, put them in the oven for only 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
