Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup potato starch
  • orange zest (zest of one orange)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • powdered sugar (for decoration)

Preparation of the 5-Minute Orange Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a bowl, mix together the flour, potato starch, sugar, grated orange zest, and baking powder.
In another large bowl, combine the eggs, orange juice, milk, and vegetable oil, and whisk everything together.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring continuously with the whisk to avoid lumps, until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
Grease and flour a 9-inch diameter cake pan and pour in the prepared mixture.

  • Bake for about thirty-five minutes: do the toothpick test, which should come out dry if inserted in the center of the cake; otherwise, bake a little longer.
Remove from the oven, let cool completely, then transfer your 5-minute orange cake to a serving tray or plate, finishing with a sprinkle of powdered sugar if desired.
