The American potato salad is a tasty side dish, very easy to prepare.
Its characteristic flavor comes from the type of dressing it is mixed with, made of mayonnaise, yogurt, mustard, and chives. It’s often brought as a gift to barbecues or Thanksgiving in American movies, crucial moments of American conviviality, in huge bowls and well wrapped in food film. This salad is excellent both warm and cold, so it can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator.

Ingredients
- 1.1 lbs potatoes (medium-sized)
- 1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp mustard
- chives
- salt
- pepper
Preparation of American Potato Salad
Wash the potatoes and place them in a pot.
Cover with cold water, add a little salt, and bring them to a boil.Let them cook for fifteen minutes after boiling, then drain and let them cool slightly.
Peel them, cut them into chunks, place them in a bowl, and season with salt and pepper.In a small bowl, mix the yogurt with the mayonnaise, mustard, and a bit of chives.
Dress the potatoes with the obtained sauce, mixing thoroughly.
Serve your American potato salad warm or cold, according to your taste.
