Baked pasta Tranese style is a tasty first course with stracciatella and tomato, appetizing and easy to prepare.
Originating from Trani, the beautiful town in Puglia, with simple and genuine local products, such as stracciatella, the delicious soft cream that forms the filling of burrata, paired with a simple tomato sauce, and completed with tasty fresh cherry tomatoes marinated with garlic and basil. It’s a rich dish perfect for Sunday lunch or festive days.

Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta
- 24 oz peeled tomatoes
- 11 oz stracciatella
- 7 oz cherry tomatoes
- 3 oz pecorino (grated)
- 1 clove garlic
- Half onion
- basil
- extra virgin olive oil
- salt
Preparation of Baked Pasta Tranese Style
Heat a base of extra virgin olive oil in a pot.
Clean the onion, slice it, and let it brown in the oil.
Add the peeled tomatoes, salt, and let it cook on low heat for fifteen minutes.Meanwhile, wash the cherry tomatoes, cut them in half, and place them in a bowl.
Add some torn basil leaves, the minced garlic clove, extra virgin olive oil, and salt, and mix thoroughly.
Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water for half of its cooking time.In a large baking dish, pour a ladle of the prepared tomato sauce, then a layer of pasta, some stracciatella, then again the sauce, the pasta, the stracciatella, and so on until the ingredients are used up, ending with the stracciatella. Sprinkle with the grated cheese and add the halved cherry tomatoes.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 392°F for half an hour, then remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve your Baked Pasta Tranese Style.
