Braised Celery with Lemon

Braised celery with lemon is a tasty side dish, very easy to prepare.

A light, healthy, and purifying side that pairs well with meat dishes, made with a few simple ingredients, almost always in the pantry. Celery has very few calories, is rich in fiber, nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins A and C, potassium, and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Ingredients

  • 12 stalks celery
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • parsley
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of Braised Celery with Lemon

  • Wash the celery, remove the strings, and cut it into pieces about 2 or 2.5 inches long.
    Peel the garlic clove.
    In a large pan, heat a few tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and sauté the garlic.

  • Add the celery pieces, remove the garlic clove, salt, and let it flavor, stirring for a few minutes.
    Add a cup of hot water, cover with a lid, and let it cook over medium heat for about twenty minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Squeeze the lemon.
    Remove the pan from heat, dress the celery with lemon juice and chopped parsley to taste.
    Serve your braised celery with lemon right away.
