Ingredients
- 4 slices sandwich bread (rectangular)
- 4.23 oz tuna in oil
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (+ extra for spreading on the bread surface)
- 1 tablespoon capers
- 20 pretzels
- 5 cherry tomatoes (small)
- black olives (pitted and sliced)
Preparation of Christmas Reindeer Canapés
Drain the tuna from its preserving oil and place it in a tall beaker (for example, the one provided with an immersion blender is perfect).
Add a tablespoon of mayonnaise and the capers, and blend everything with an immersion blender until you get a smooth mixture.
Place a slice of sandwich bread on the work surface and spread it with the prepared cream.Cover it with another slice of bread and spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the surface.
Prepare the other two slices of bread in the same way.
With a smooth-bladed knife, cut each pair of slices diagonally to form triangles.
Wash the cherry tomatoes, dry them, and cut them in half.Place two pretzels at the ends of each triangle base to make the reindeer’s antlers.
Put two slices of black olives for the eyes and half a cherry tomato for the nose.
You can prepare your reindeer canapés in advance and store them covered with some plastic wrap in the fridge until ready to serve.
