Cream and Nutella Roll

The cream and Nutella roll is a delicious, easy-to-make, and irresistible dessert.

A soft biscuit dough that doesn’t break when rolled, thanks to the precautions taken during preparation, filled with a layer of Nutella and soft whipped cream, perfect as a dessert or for a party or occasion, delighting both children and adults alike.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 5 oz sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup potato starch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • 1 1/4 cups whipping cream
  • Nutella
  • powdered sugar (for decoration)

Preparation of the Cream and Nutella Roll

  • Separate the yolks from the whites and beat the latter until stiff peaks form. Set them aside.
    Beat the yolks with the sugar for about ten minutes, until you have a light and fluffy mixture.
    Add the sifted flour, potato starch, vanillin, and baking powder to the yolks mixture. Blend them well, then fold in the beaten egg whites with a spatula using gentle movements from bottom to top.

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper and pour the prepared mixture onto it, leveling it.
    Bake in a preheated static oven at 428°F for seven to eight minutes, until golden brown.
    Remove from the oven, take out the base with the parchment paper attached, sprinkle the surface with some sugar, cover with another sheet of parchment paper, and flip it onto a work surface.
    Remove the parchment paper stuck to the base during baking, sprinkle with more sugar and then roll up the base.
    Allow it to cool.

  • Whip the cream well chilled from the refrigerator.
    Unroll the now-cooled roll and fill it with a layer of Nutella to taste, then cover the Nutella with whipped cream.
    Roll it up again and put your cream and Nutella roll in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, so it becomes nice and firm. Before serving, sprinkle it as desired with a little powdered sugar.
