The dried fig and walnut cake is a soft pantry cake, easy to make and very delicious.
A soft dough that includes chopped dried figs, walnut pieces, and apple cubes that make it moist and perfect as a dessert, for breakfast or snack, delicious and fragrant.
Dried figs are a superfood, rich in nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants. Walnuts are the queens of nuts, possessing anti-anemic, antispasmodic, sedative, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Ingredients
- 7 oz dried figs
- 2 oz walnut kernels
- 3 eggs
- 6 oz sugar
- 4 tbsps vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup milk
- 7 oz all-purpose flour
- 1 apple
- 1 packet baking powder
- powdered sugar (for decoration)
Preparation of the Dried Fig and Walnut Cake
Roughly chop the dried figs and walnut kernels.
Peel the apple and cut it into small pieces.
In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the eggs with the sugar until you obtain a light and fluffy mixture.
Incorporate the vegetable oil and milk.Add the sifted flour and baking powder.
Add the chopped figs, walnuts, and apple pieces to the batter, incorporating them with a spatula.
Butter and flour a cake pan of 9 inches in diameter and pour the prepared mixture into it, leveling it.Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for half an hour: perform the toothpick test to check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick that should come out clean and dry, otherwise extend the baking a little longer.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan before transferring your dried fig and walnut cake onto a serving plate and decorating it to taste with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
