Fennel en papillote is a tasty side dish that’s very easy to prepare.
Few ingredients and lots of flavor, a simple procedure for a perfect side dish to accompany any type of main course, whether meat, fish, or cheese.
Fennel, rich in minerals, fiber, and vitamins, with a high water content, is great for relieving stomach heaviness, detoxifying, improving liver functions, and is a great ally against coughs and airway inflammations.

Ingredients
- 2 fennel (large)
- 3 oz Parmesan cheese (shaved)
- 2.5 oz Taggiasca olives
- 2 tbsp capers
- extra virgin olive oil
- salt
Preparation of Fennel en Papillote
Wash the fennel, remove the stalks and any damaged outer leaves, cut off the base, and slice them thinly.
Place them in a bowl.
Slice the olives into rounds and add them to the fennel.Also add the capers and shaved Parmesan, and season everything with extra virgin olive oil and salt.
Mix thoroughly.
Prepare four sheets of parchment paper.Divide the fennel mixture among the sheets of paper, close each sheet into a pouch, and secure each pouch with kitchen string.
Place the pouches on a baking sheet and bake in a static oven at 350°F for half an hour.
Serve your hot fennel en papillote.
