Fennel Tart in Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 fennel bulbs
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup pecorino (grated)
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • marjoram
  • thyme
  • nutmeg
  • salt

Preparation of Fennel Tart in Air Fryer

  • Clean the fennel by removing the core, stems, and any damaged outer leaves, then wash them well.
    Cut them into half-inch thick slices, place them in a pot, and cover with cold water.
    Bring the pot to a boil and cook for eight minutes from boiling, adding a pinch of salt.
    Drain and set aside.

  • In a small saucepan, mix the extra virgin olive oil and flour over low heat.
    Once they have a compact appearance, gradually add room temperature water, continuing to stir until the cream thickens.
    Adjust the salt and add some grated nutmeg, then turn off the heat.

  • Mix the breadcrumbs with some thyme and marjoram.
    Oil the bottom of a baking dish suitable for air frying.
    Sprinkle it with the flavored breadcrumbs.
    Make a layer of fennel, dress with some of the prepared cream, a sprinkle of grated pecorino, and a bit of salt.

  • Create another layer of fennel, cream, grated pecorino, and so on, until the ingredients are used up, ending with pecorino.
    Preheat the air fryer to 392°F.
    Cook your fennel tart in the air fryer for twelve minutes.
    Remove from the fryer and let rest for fifteen minutes before serving.
