Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- red jam (strawberry or raspberry or any other fruit of your choice)
- milk
- sugar
Preparation of Love Letters of Puff Pastry
Unroll the puff pastry.
With a smooth blade knife, cut it in half starting from the center of the shorter side to its opposite and then slice parallel strips about 2 inches apart, thus creating rectangles.Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut a heart about an inch from the center of one of the shorter sides of each rectangle.
Spread a teaspoon of jam on the opposite side from the heart, then fold the free side with the heart-shaped hole over the filling, effectively folding the rectangle in half.
Make two small cuts without reaching the bottom, starting from the two corners of the longer side towards the cut-out heart, and then use the prongs of a fork to press the edges of all sides of the rectangle.Place the envelopes of your letters created like this on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush them with a little milk and sprinkle with some sugar.
Bake in a preheated convection oven at 390°F for twelve minutes.
Remove from the oven, let them cool completely, and serve your love letters of puff pastry.
They keep for two days under a cake dome.
