  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients for Nutella Shortcrust Pastries

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg (small)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • baking powder (a pinch)
  • Nutella (or hazelnut cream of your choice)
  • powdered sugar (for decoration)

Tools

  • 1 24-Cup Mini Muffin Pan

Preparation of Nutella Shortcrust Pastries

  • Beat the softened butter with the sugar in a large bowl.
Add the vegetable oil gradually, while continuing to use the mixer, and the egg.
Finally, add the flour and baking powder one tablespoon at a time, always using the mixer, until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least ten minutes.

  • Butter and flour a mini muffin pan and arrange balls made from the dough.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for nine minutes, then without removing them from the pan, gently press the center of each pastry with the handle of a wooden spoon and fill them with Nutella before baking them for another five minutes.

  • Remove from the oven, gently take the pastries out of the pan and let them cool on a wire rack (given the amount of dough, it may be necessary to butter the mini muffin pan again to prepare all the pastries as described above).
Store your Nutella shortcrust pastries in an airtight container or under a cake dome for up to three or four days.
