Orange and Almond Biscotti

Orange and almond biscotti are delicious cookies, easy to make and irresistible.

Crunchy and fragrant, they are simple to prepare and perfect for the end of a meal, or to accompany a good cup of tea or hot chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar (plus extra for sprinkling cookies before baking)
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 1/3 tablespoons butter
  • Half packet baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons orange marmalade
  • 3.2 oz blanched almonds

Preparation of Orange and Almond Biscotti

  • Toast the almonds for a few minutes, then coarsely chop them.
    In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and 2/3 cup of sugar and mix.
    Add the butter in pieces and knead until you get a crumbly mixture, then add the eggs and orange marmalade and knead until you have a smooth dough.

  • Incorporate the almonds, shape into a loaf, and wrap it in cling film.
    Let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour.

  • Divide the loaf into two parts and shape each piece into a cylinder.
    Place the two cylinders on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush them with a little water and sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for twenty minutes.
    Remove from the oven, let cool, then cut each cylinder into slices.

  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 300°F for ten minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.
    Let them cool completely on the tray, then store your orange and almond biscotti in an airtight container or tin box.
