Pirate’s Pasta is a tasty main course that’s easy and quick to prepare.
It’s an ancient dish of Neapolitan origin, made for sailors who docked on the coast and needed a quick but flavorful meal, made with simple yet very tasty ingredients. For this recipe, simple ingredients always available in the pantry are needed, and it takes just a few minutes to prepare it, the time it takes to cook the pasta.

Ingredients
- 12.7 oz ziti
- 7.1 oz canned tomatoes
- 4 fillets anchovies
- 1.8 oz pitted black olives
- 1 chili pepper
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp parsley (chopped)
- 1 tbsp basil (chopped)
- 1 tbsp oregano (chopped)
- extra virgin olive oil
- salt
Preparing Pirate’s Pasta
Bring a pot of water to the boil for cooking the pasta.
Chop the anchovy fillets.
Cut the olives into pieces.
Chop the chili pepper into small pieces and crush the garlic clove.In a large pan or wok, heat some extra virgin olive oil and brown the garlic with the chili pepper.
Remove the garlic and add the anchovies, allowing them to melt completely before adding the canned tomatoes.
Cook for ten minutes on low heat.
Meanwhile, cook the pasta al dente in salted water.Add the chopped herbs—parsley, basil, and oregano—to the sauce along with the olives and let them infuse for a few minutes.
Drain the pasta and add it to the sauce, stirring well.
Serve the Pirate’s Pasta immediately in serving dishes, while hot.
