Potato Cake Pizzaiola Style

The potato cake pizzaiola style is a tasty side dish, vegetarian main course, or single dish made with potatoes, easy to make and very appetizing.

Just potatoes, tomato, mozzarella, and herbs, with a simple procedure, for a perfect dish both as a side dish to other courses, or as a vegetarian main course or single dish, for both adults and children.

Potatoes have a moderate caloric intake but do not contain lactose, gluten, or histamine. They contain vitamin C, A, and B3, folic acid, potassium, and zinc. They are widely used in cooking, always present in the pantry, and can be turned into delicious dishes of all kinds and for all tastes.

Ingredients

  • 3 potatoes
  • 3/8 cup tomato sauce
  • 3.5 oz mozzarella
  • oregano
  • breadcrumbs
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of the Potato Cake Pizzaiola Style

  • Peel the potatoes and slice them about 1/4 inch thick.
    Boil them for about ten minutes in salted boiling water, then drain them.
    Drain the mozzarella from the preserving liquid and chop it.

  • Oil the bottom of a 8-inch diameter baking dish (or equivalent size) and place a layer of potato slices.
    Season with some tomato sauce, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, salt, and oregano.
    Sprinkle with some mozzarella.

  • Make another layer of potatoes, then tomato sauce, oil, salt, oregano, and mozzarella, and so on, until all the ingredients are used up, ending with the mozzarella.
    Bake in a preheated convection oven at 355°F for about twenty minutes, switching to grill mode in the last minutes of cooking.
    Take out of the oven and serve immediately, the potato cake pizzaiola style hot.
