Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry (fresh rectangular)
  • 14 oz potatoes
  • 3.5 oz ham
  • 5.3 oz scamorza (or provola)
  • 1 egg
  • sesame seeds

Preparation of Potato Roll in Crust

  • Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks.
Place them in a pot, cover with cold water, and put them on the heat.
Let them cook for ten minutes from boiling, drain, and pass them through a potato masher, collecting the puree in a bowl.

  • Unroll the puff pastry leaving it on the parchment paper it comes with.
Spread it with the potato puree, keeping away from the edges by about an inch.
Cover the puree with slices of ham, then with scamorza (or provola) sliced thinly.
Roll up the puff pastry using the underlying parchment paper and seal the edges well.

  • Place the roll thus obtained on a baking tray covered with parchment paper.
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the surface of the roll, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in a preheated fan oven at 360°F for about half an hour until golden.
Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve your potato roll in crust.
