Pumpkin Crumble

The pumpkin crumble is a tasty appetizer or second course made with pumpkin, delicious and easy to make.

Crunchy and tasty crumbs that enclose a delicious heart of pumpkin, smoked scamorza cheese, and smoked bacon, for an unusual dish, perfect as an appetizer, perhaps prepared in single servings, or as a tasty second course to share with family or friends.

Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs pumpkin (already cleaned)
  • 4.2 oz smoked bacon (cubed)
  • 3.5 oz smoked scamorza cheese
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 oz grana cheese (grated)
  • 3.5 oz butter
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of the Pumpkin Crumble

  • Grate the pumpkin with a large-hole grater, collecting the result in a bowl.
    Add the cubed smoked bacon and diced scamorza, season with extra virgin olive oil and salt, and mix thoroughly.

  • In another bowl, put the flour, grated cheese, diced butter, and a pinch of salt, and knead quickly until you obtain a crumbly mixture.

  • Oil a baking dish and pour the pumpkin mixture into it, compacting it on the bottom and leveling it to have an even layer.
    Cover it with a layer of crumbly mixture that completely covers the pumpkin as evenly as possible.

  • Bake in a preheated oven, at 356°F in fan mode for about thirty-five minutes, until golden.
    Serve your pumpkin crumble hot or warm.
