Salami Baskets

Salami baskets are tasty appetizers, quick and easy to prepare.

Slices of Milano salami become small containers for cherry tomatoes, olives, and scamorza (or mozzarella), perfect for accompanying an aperitif or as eye-catching and delicious appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 3.5 oz Milano salami (8 slices not too thin)
  • 2.8 oz cherry tomatoes
  • 2.1 oz scamorza (or mozzarella)
  • green olives (pitted)
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of Salami Baskets

  • Turn on the oven in static mode at 350°F.
    Place each slice of salami in an aluminum food cup, pressing with your fingers to form a basket.

  • Bake them for five minutes, then let them cool slightly outside the oven.
    Meanwhile, wash the cherry tomatoes, cut them into wedges and collect them in a small bowl.

  • Season them with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and salt and mix thoroughly.
    Cut the scamorza into cubes and add them with a handful of pitted green olives to the seasoned cherry tomatoes and mix again.
    When the salami baskets are cold, gently remove them from the cups and fill them with the prepared filling.
