Salmon Vol au Vent

Salmon vol au vent are delicious puff pastry appetizers, easy to make and irresistible.

Puff pastry baskets of French origin, vol au vent, a name that means literally flight in the wind to indicate they are very light, are perfect for holding many tasty fillings, both sweet and savory. In the following recipe, they are filled with a delicious salmon mousse and decorated in a refined, simple, and scenic way.

Ingredients

  • 8 vol au vent
  • 1.76 oz smoked salmon (+ for decoration)
  • 3.53 oz cream cheese
  • 1.76 oz cooking cream
  • dill
  • pink peppercorns

Preparation of the Salmon Vol au Vent

  • Cut the salmon into pieces and put it in a blender with the cooking cream and cream cheese.
    Blend everything until you have a pink, thick, and homogeneous cream.

  • Put a star nozzle on a piping bag and transfer the prepared mixture into it.
    Fill the vol au vent.

  • Then complete each one with a strip of smoked salmon rolled up on itself, as if to form a bud, then sprinkle them with some pink peppercorns and a bit of dill.
    Serve your salmon vol au vent.
