The simple potato pizza is a tasty dish made with potatoes, easy to make and irresistible.

Similar to the potato gateau, it differs in the absence of melting cheeses and cold cuts, but is just as tasty and irresistible. Crunchy outside and with a soft and flavorful center, it is perfect as an appetizer, main course or single dish, and delicious whether hot, warm, or cold, and therefore can be prepared in advance and enjoyed outside for lunch at the office, a picnic or at the beach.

Ingredients

  • 3.3 lbs potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • Half clove garlic
  • 1.75 oz grana cheese (grated)
  • breadcrumbs
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of the Simple Potato Pizza

  • Wash the potatoes, place them in a pot, cover with water and bring to a boil.
    Let them cook for twenty to twenty-five minutes from the moment they start boiling, until they are soft and easily pierced with a fork.
    Drain them, let them cool slightly, then peel and mash them, collecting the puree in a bowl.

  • Add the egg, grated cheese, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt, and mix thoroughly until the mixture is homogeneous and compact.
    Grease a baking dish and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs.
    Spread the prepared mixture over it, leveling it.

  • Sprinkle the surface of your simple potato pizza with a bit more breadcrumbs and finish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F in static mode for twenty to twenty-five minutes, switching to grill mode in the last minutes of cooking to make the surface more golden.
    The potato pizza is ready to be enjoyed!
