  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 8 – 10 servings
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (strained)
  • orange zest (zest of one orange)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • powdered sugar (for decoration)

Preparation of the Soft Orange Cake

  • Wash the orange, dry it well, and grate the zest.

    Squeeze its juice.

  • Separate the egg yolks from the whites.

Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the egg yolks with the sugar and beat with an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Add the vegetable oil, juice, and grated zest of the orange.

  • Incorporate the sifted flour and baking powder.

Fold in the beaten egg whites, mixing gently with a spatula from bottom to top.

Grease and flour a 9-inch Bundt pan and pour the prepared batter into it.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for thirty-five to forty minutes. After thirty minutes, perform the toothpick test: insert it into the cake, and it should come out dry; otherwise, extend the baking time.

Remove from the oven, let cool completely, and decorate your soft orange cake with powdered sugar as desired before serving.
