Ingredients for Strega tiramisu
- pieces ladyfingers (about)
- 9 oz mascarpone (about 1 cup)
- 3/4 cup cold heavy cream (for whipping)
- 3 tablespoons Strega liqueur
- 2/3 cup hot brewed coffee
- 1 tablespoon Strega liqueur
- unsweetened cocoa powder
Preparation of Strega tiramisu
Prepare the soaking liquid by mixing the hot coffee with the Strega liqueur and let it cool.
In a large bowl prepare the cream by beating the mascarpone, the Strega and the cold heavy cream (straight from the fridge) with an electric whisk until you obtain a thick, compact mixture.Assemble the Strega tiramisu: in a baking dish create a layer of ladyfingers quickly dipped in the Strega coffee, then cover with a layer of cream.
Make another layer of ladyfingers soaked in the Strega coffee and another layer with the remaining cream.
Put the tiramisu in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, then, at serving time, dust with unsweetened cocoa powder to taste.
