The sweet bread with walnuts and figs is a delicious variation of the low Genoese pandolce, easy to make and very tasty.
The Genoese pandolce is a typical Christmas dessert also known as Genoese panettone. It is distinguished between high Genoese pandolce, with long rising time, and low Genoese pandolce, with instant yeast, which is easier and quicker to prepare and perhaps for this reason more widespread. The variation with figs and walnuts involves using these two ingredients instead of raisins, pine nuts, and candied fruits and is extremely delicious and irresistible.
