Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp + 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup Grana cheese (grated)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant baking powder for savory preparations (about 16 g (≈0.56 oz))
  • 3.5 oz cooked ham (or other cured meat of your choice or sautéed vegetables)
  • 3.5 oz mozzarella
  • salt

Preparation of the Very Quick Savory Tart

  • Chop the cooked ham (or the other sliced meat of your choice).
    Cut the mozzarella into cubes after draining it well from its preserving liquid.
    In a large bowl, using electric beaters, beat the eggs.

  • Slowly add the vegetable oil and the milk.
    Add the grated Grana cheese, a generous pinch of salt, the flour and the instant baking powder for savory preparations.
    Add the ham and the mozzarella and fold them into the batter with a spatula to incorporate.

  • Pour everything into a 9.5 in (24 cm) cake pan that has been buttered and floured or lined with parchment paper.
    Bake in a preheated conventional oven at 356°F (180°C) for thirty minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick inserted into the tart – it should come out dry when fully cooked; if not, extend the baking time a little.
    Remove from the oven, let cool and serve your very quick savory tart.
