Ingredients

  • 100 powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 baking powder

Steps

  • To prepare the cocoa butter cookies, start by working the soft butter with powdered sugar in a bowl, using a spatula or a whisk, until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous cream. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well to incorporate.
    In another bowl, sift the flour with the cocoa powder and a pinch of salt.

    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, first mixing with the spatula and then quickly kneading with your hands until you obtain a soft dough.
    To give the heart shape, you’ll need to put the dough into a pastry bag and pipe it onto the tray in a heart shape.


    Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 10–12 minutes. Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
    Your cocoa butter cookies are ready to be enjoyed in all their crumbly goodness! 😍🍪

    I added some sprinkles before baking and melted chocolate after baking, which made them even more delicious!

The cocoa butter cookies will keep perfectly for 5–6 days if stored in a tin box or an airtight container, away from heat and moisture sources. This way, they will retain all their crunchiness and cocoa aroma.
