Pumpkin is a fall vegetable, so let’s take advantage of this period to prepare it in different ways. The most classic way is definitely Baked Pumpkin, a light but tasty side dish. A colorful dish that will brighten up your meals!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 4 servings
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1.76 lbs Pumpkin
- to taste Dried thyme
- to taste Rosemary
- to taste Fine salt
- to taste Olive oil
- to taste Sage
Preparation
Wash the pumpkin, remove the skin using a peeler, and clean out the seeds inside.
Now cut it into slices, place them on one side on the oven tray lined with baking paper.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt on each pumpkin slice, add rosemary, sage, and thyme on top (put a little of each herb on every slice). Drizzle with a little oil, let it absorb for about 5 minutes.
Bake on the second rack from the bottom of the oven for about 30 minutes at 356°F in fan mode (the time depends on the thickness of the slices, so check with a fork that the pumpkin has softened).
Suggestions/Tips
For a tastier pumpkin, place the tray for a few minutes at the bottom of the oven to slightly roast the pumpkin slices!
If you use dried thyme leaves, don’t overdo the quantities, otherwise it will become slightly bitter.
Instead of fresh herbs, you can also use dried ones.
I did not chop the herbs, this is up to your preference, if you prefer you can make a mix of sage and rosemary and sprinkle it over the pumpkin.
With 800 grams of pumpkin, you get about 400 grams of pulp.
