Breaded and Fried Mozzarella Balls

A dish that my daughter loves is Breaded and Fried Mozzarella Balls, truly a delightful side dish to offer for a party or an appetizer. With the double breading, you will prevent them from breaking during cooking and the cheese from leaking out.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 5 people
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 8.8 oz cherry-sized mozzarella balls (drained from the preserving water)
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups breadcrumbs
  • 3 eggs
  • 5 pinches fine salt
  • 2 pinches ground black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable oil

Preparation

  • Drain the mozzarella balls from the preserving water by placing them in a colander.

Then roll them in the flour.

  • Now coat them in the eggs and then in the breadcrumbs.

  • Coat them again in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs, lightly pressing them with your hands to ensure the coating sticks well to the mozzarella.

  • It’s time to fry them.

  • In a pan, heat the oil, and once hot, submerge the mozzarella balls, cooking over medium heat until golden brown.

  • Remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve hot and enjoy your meal!

I recommend preparing them with the double breading, as suggested in the recipe, to prevent them from breaking during cooking and the cheese from leaking out.
