The chèvre chaud salad (warm goat cheese) is a truly special dish, where goat cheese with the addition of honey and almonds or walnuts gives a really special taste. We tasted it in Nice, France, and fell in love with it immediately!

Ingredients
- 2 tomatoes (approximately 100 g each)
- 7 oz lettuce (iceberg)
- to taste fine salt
- to taste dried oregano
- to taste olive oil
- 3 slices bread
- 4 oz goat cheese
- 4 teaspoons honey
- 10 almonds (or walnuts)
Steps
Wash and slice the tomatoes not too thinly.
Season the tomatoes with oil, fine salt, and dried oregano.
Wash and break the lettuce into pieces. Season it with oil and fine salt.
Place half of the tomatoes and half of the seasoned lettuce on a plate.
Toast the bread slices and cut each slice into two parts, cutting them along the diagonal.
Slice the goat cheese not too thickly and place two or three slices on each half slice of bread. Heat them in the oven or toaster for a few seconds, until they start to melt.
Place the slices of bread on the plate over the lettuce.
Now finish with two teaspoons of honey.
Add the almonds that you previously toasted and crushed. If you prefer, you can also use walnuts instead of almonds.
All that’s left is to enjoy this dish as simple as it is amazing!
