Ingredients
- 10 shells
- 5.3 oz ragù
- 1 yolk (hard-boiled)
- to taste coarse salt
- to taste basil (fresh leaves)
- to taste grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Steps
Put plenty of water in a large pot, as soon as it boils add two teaspoons of coarse salt and the shells. Cook them a few minutes less than the cooking time indicated on the package.
Drain them, let them cool slightly and fill them with the ragù. I put two teaspoons of ragù per shell. You can find the recipe for the ragù here. With the indicated doses in the recipe, you will get about 2.6 lbs of ragù, for each portion of Christmas Stars of shells you will need about 5.3 oz.
Arrange five on a plate positioned in a star shape, try to use the more open ones for the center part. Now place another five shells as in the figure. In this case, choose the slightly more closed ones.
Gratinate them for a few minutes in the oven. You can also add some grated Parmesan cheese, but not too much, otherwise you will cover the red of the ragù.
Add some basil leaves.
To complete the dish, crumble some egg yolk in the center.
