Fusilli with Cream and Ham

Here are my summer pastas, quick and tasty, to prepare in a few minutes. Fusilli with cream and ham is one of our favorite dishes.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 servings
  • Cooking methods: Stove
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 11.3 oz fusilli
  • 0.85 cup cream (for cooking)
  • 0.55 lbs cooked ham (in cubes)
  • 2 pinches coarse salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper (ground)

Preparation

  • Cut the cooked ham into small cubes and set aside on a plate.

Put plenty of water in a pot, as soon as it boils, add the salt and pasta.

Drain the fusilli while still al dente, keeping a glass of cooking water aside in case it turns out too dry.

Return the pasta to the pot, add the ham and cream, and mix well with a wooden spoon.

If it’s too dry, add some of the reserved cooking water.

You can add ground black pepper if you like.

Tips/Advice

I usually don’t fry the ham in the pan, since we like it softer. If you prefer, you can sauté it in the pan with a drop of oil.
