- Cooking time: 30 Minutes
- Portions: 2 jars of 1 lb.
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 2.2 lbs Peaches
- 1/4 cup Sugar
Preparation
Wash the peaches well.
Put plenty of water in a pot, and as soon as it comes to a boil, blanch the peaches for about a minute. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a tea towel. This step is just to make peeling the peaches easier.
Peel the peaches, cut them in half, and remove the pits.
Place the peach halves in a glass jar, arranging them in layers, and finally add a tablespoon of sugar (about 1/8 cup).
Close the jar and proceed with sterilizing the jars.
Put the jars in a large pot. To prevent them from breaking during boiling, place a tea towel at the bottom and other tea towels between the jars.
Cover the jars with water, bring to a boil, and boil for about 20 minutes.
Allow the jars to cool inside the pot.
