How to Carve a Pumpkin (Halloween)

And here is How to Carve a Pumpkin (Halloween): yes, this year for the first time we tried to create our own Jack-o’-lantern. It was a bit of a long task, but I guarantee the result is impressive! We placed it as a centerpiece and it immediately caught everyone’s attention.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 1 Hour
  • Portions: 1 pumpkin
  • Cooking methods: No cooking
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 Pumpkin

Tools

  • 1 Spoon ice cream

Preparation

  • Wash the pumpkin thoroughly. Now let’s start carving: draw a circle around the crown with a pencil.

  • With a knife, cut along the previously drawn line and remove the crown.

  • Patiently hollow out the inside of the pumpkin with a knife and also use an ice cream scoop.

  • Now continue by drawing the eyes, nose, and mouth with a pencil.

  • Proceed by cutting with a smooth and short blade knife along the pencil mark and remove the pumpkin part inside the previously drawn figures.

  • Now place a candle inside, light it with a lighter, close with the previously carved top and voilà!

Tips/advice

I prepared the pumpkin two days before Halloween and kept it in the refrigerator until the day of the party.

The candle used should not be too tall, otherwise you risk burning the inside of the pumpkin.
