Preparation
First, wash the jars thoroughly, then place them open with the lids in a large pot, wrapping them in clean cloths to prevent them from breaking during boiling.
Fill the pot with cold water until the jars are completely covered.
Bring the water to a boil, then lower the heat and boil for at least 30 minutes with the lid on the pot.
Remove the jars and place them upside down on a kitchen towel to drain, then turn them right-side up and allow the water to evaporate. They must be completely dry before use.
To speed up the process and ensure they are completely dry, you can also put them in the oven at about 175°F for a few minutes.
