Monster Banana Cookies (Halloween)

The recipes I try to propose for Halloween are generally very quick to prepare. For these monster banana cookies (Halloween), the dough is very simple; the only peculiarity was using cookie cutters (the ones I bought for Christmas, but don’t tell anyone!) and adding decorations such as sugar eyes and chocolate sprinkles. Simple, but nice to propose for a party.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Affordable
  • Rest time: 30 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Portions: About 35 cookies (depends on the type of cutters used)
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Butter (softened)
  • 1 Banana (at room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • as needed Sugar eyes
  • as needed Chocolate sprinkles

Preparation

  • In a mixer with beaters, combine the sugar with the softened butter and mix well.

Add the banana cut into pieces, continuing to blend until the ingredients are incorporated.

Then gradually add the flour. When the mixture becomes compact and starts to stick to the beaters, remove it from the container and place it on a floured surface.

  • Knead it a bit with your hands, adding a little flour: it should be smooth and no longer sticky.
Form a ball, place it in a slightly floured container, and store it in the fridge for about half an hour.

  • Now place the ball on a floured surface, roll it out with a rolling pin until you get a thickness of about 1/6 inch.

Cut the cookies with the cutters and bake at 356°F for about 10 minutes. They will be ready when the edges turn golden.

  • To finish, add sugar eyes and chocolate sprinkles as soon as you take them out of the oven.

If you prefer, use a little decorating gel as glue, and then place the eyes, mouth, and nose on top.

Tips/Suggestions

It is advisable to use a rather ripe banana.
