Oriental Flavor Rice Salad

On hot days like these, the desire to cook is minimal, but this Oriental Flavor Rice Salad is really easy and quick to prepare. You just need to cook the rice and then add the ingredients and sauce that make the dish special!

Here are some other refreshing salads:

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 4People
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Spring, Summer

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 3 mozzarella (each 125g)
  • 3 oz green olives
  • 1 cup carrots (already cleaned)
  • 4 hot dogs (each 25g)
  • 3 tbsps soy sauce
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 tsp miso
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 3 tbsps lemon juice

Steps

  • Cook the rice in a pot with salted water for the time indicated on the package. Drain and cool it with a stream of fresh water.

  • Place the cooled rice in a bowl, add the diced mozzarella.

  • Wash the carrots, peel them, and slice thinly with a peeler. If the slices are too long or wide, cut them into smaller pieces.

  • Add the carrots to the rice.

  • Now, drain the olives from their water and add them to the bowl. I cut them in half, but you can leave them whole if you prefer.

  • Finally, slice the four hot dogs and add them to the rice salad.

  • Put all the sauce ingredients in a small jar and shake well!

  • Pour the sauce into the bowl and mix well to evenly distribute it over the entire rice salad.

  • Put it in the fridge for a few hours, it’s definitely better chilled on hot days!

  • You can also enjoy it at the beach or during a picnic.

Tips, Suggestions

I added the hot dogs, you can omit them if they’re not to your liking.

You can adjust the sauce to your taste, adding more soy sauce or more miso if you prefer.
