As I think you’ve already understood, I love mixing recipes from different countries. I enjoy combining flavors and tastes that come from very distant cultures. That’s why I tried to prepare Paneer wrapped in bacon, recalling the Piedmontese recipe of ‘tomini piemontesi’ wrapped in speck or pancetta. In fact, you can use the cold cut you like the most, the flavor will always be delicious.
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Affordable
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 4 servings
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1 Paneer approximately 5 oz
- 5.3 oz Bacon
Preparation
Prepare the Paneer following the recipe you find here.
Wrap the bacon slices around the paneer, following one direction. You should completely cover your block of cheese.
Do the same, wrapping the bacon around the paneer in the other direction as well, to completely encase it.
Now place the prepared paneer in a pan and cook for a few minutes on each side. When the bacon is golden and crispy, your dish will be ready.
Tips/Advice
If you prefer, instead of bacon, you can use speck or pancetta, it will still be delicious.
You can also prepare a flatter and wider shape, which will allow the cheese to heat better, even in the innermost part.
