Potato Rose

The Potato Rose is a quick appetizer to make and really beautiful to see. I guarantee it will look very impressive and make an impact on your guests.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 servings
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 Puff Pastry
  • 3 Potatoes
  • 2 Onions
  • 3.5 oz Brie
  • 5.3 oz Speck
  • 2 tbsps Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Preparation

  • Wash, peel, and slice the potatoes into thin slices, season them with oil, salt, and pepper. Now wash and slice the onion into thin slices. With a pastry wheel, cut the puff pastry into strips about 3 fingers wide, place the slice of speck on the top, above the potato slices, and above those the onion slices. Place the brie slices on the bottom part.

Fold the bottom part up and roll everything. Place inside a greased muffin tin. Bake in the oven at 356°F for 25 minutes.

Tips/Advice

For thinly slicing the potatoes and avoiding them being undercooked, I recommend using a mandoline.
