Puff Pastry and Apple Turnovers

These Puff Pastry and Apple Turnovers are ideal to prepare in the morning when you have little time and nothing ready for breakfast. Simple and tasty.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 5 turnovers
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 Apple (about 7 oz)
  • 1 Round Puff Pastry about 8 oz
  • 5 teaspoons Fig Jam
  • 3 teaspoons Concentrated Lemon Juice

Preparation

  • Wash, peel, and slice the apple.

Chop it into very small pieces using a knife or a mixer, using the manual button to avoid mashing it.

Place it in a bowl, add the lemon juice, mix and let it rest for a few minutes.

  • Meanwhile, unroll the puff pastry and cut out rounds using a cookie cutter of 3.75 inches in diameter.

Knead the scraps again, roll them out with a rolling pin and cut the last disks.

You will get 10 in total.

  • On 5 disks, put a teaspoon of jam and a generous teaspoon of apple.

Try to place the filling in the center of the disk, leaving empty space around it.

  • Now take the other 5 disks, stretch them slightly with your hands to widen them.

Place them over the apple disks, seal the edges well with your fingers and crimp with a fork.

Puncture the surface to let the heat out.

  • Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper and place the disks on top.

Bake at 356°F for about 15 minutes, until golden on the surface.
