Puff Pastry Bites Filled with Jam are a delightful treat, always appreciated and made with just two ingredients! You can use any jam you like, as long as it’s not liquid; I’ve used fig jam. Unexpected guests and you want to offer a tasty little treat? Here’s the solution.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 30 – 34 bites
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry (round, about 8 oz)
- 5.3 oz jam (to taste, I used fig)
- to taste powdered sugar
Steps
Using a cookie cutter with a diameter of about 1.75 inches, cut out an even number of discs from the puff pastry.
One will serve as the base, slightly moisten it and place half a teaspoon of jam on top, leaving the edges free. Be careful: the jam should not be liquid.
Gently stretch the other disc with your hands, place it over the jam-filled one without pressing, but gently. Press the edges to make them stick, seal with the tines of a fork. Make sure to seal them very well, otherwise they will open during baking.
Bake at 356°F for about 8-10 minutes. They should be golden, but not too much.
Once out of the oven, sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Let them cool slightly before enjoying.
Tips and Advice
