Puff Pastry Brioches with Jam

These Puff Pastry Brioches with Jam have a unique shape that immediately caught my attention. I saw the recipe online and wanted to try making them: they are very quick and ideal if you crave a little sweet treat for breakfast and have little time.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 6 brioches
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry (rectangular, 265g, size 12×16 inches)
  • 7 oz fig jam
  • to taste sugar

Preparation

  • Take the two puff pastries, wet a pastry brush with water and sugar, and brush the shorter right edge of the first puff pastry.

Now, overlap the other puff pastry making sure to stick the edges well to form a single sheet.

  • Using the brush, spread the jam evenly.

  • Now roll the pastry, if possible, fairly tightly.

  • Cut the roll into 6 equal parts.

  • With a chopstick (or the handle of a wooden spoon), press in the center of the brioche, raising the two sides.

  • Bake at 356°F for 15 minutes.

Suggestions/advice

If you prefer, simply spread them with previously heated honey or sugar and cinnamon.
