A tasty appetizer that you can prepare in no time, but will surely satisfy your guests. You can use any type of cookie cutter; I used tree and star shapes since Christmas is approaching!
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Cooking time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 4 people
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 2 Puff Pastry (8 oz each.)
- 3.5 oz Prosciutto (sliced)
- 3.5 oz Rolled Pancetta (sliced)
- 3.5 oz Emmentaler Cheese (sliced)
- to taste Poppy Seeds
- to taste Pink Peppercorns
Preparation
Unroll the first puff pastry.
Cover half with the prosciutto and half with the pancetta.
Layer the cheese slices on top, make another layer with the remaining cold cuts, and cover with the second puff pastry.
Cut out Christmas trees and stars using the cookie cutters.
Decorate the trees with small strips of puff pastry (resembling decorations), poppy seeds, and pink peppercorns.
Bake in the oven at 356°F for 20 minutes.
Notes
You can also use other types of cold cuts for the filling, as well as other types of cheese, as long as they are not too watery.
If the trees do not turn golden on the surface, turn on the grill for a few minutes.
