The Puff Pastry Pie Filled with Ham, Cheese, and Ground Meat is a delight, a combination of flavors that complement each other well. It can be used as a second course, but also as a single dish, and I guarantee there won’t be a piece left!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Cooking time: 45 Minutes
- Portions: 4 people
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 3.5 oz Beef (ground)
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 tbsp Breadcrumbs
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Black pepper (ground)
- 1 pinch Parsley (chopped)
- 1 Puff Pastry (round)
- as needed Butter (spray)
- 3.5 oz Cooked ham (sliced)
- 1.75 oz Emmental cheese (sliced)
Preparation
Put the ground meat, egg, salt, pepper, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and chopped parsley in a bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon.
At this point, take a baking pan (I used those aluminum ones for 1.1-liter capacity for 4 portions), spray it with butter, and cover it with the puff pastry.
Layer the bottom with ham, place the Emmental slices on top, and then add the ground meat mixture, leveling it well.
Proceed with another layer of cooked ham, one of cheese, and fold the puff pastry over to cover the entire pie (like a package).
Place in the oven at 356°F for about 45 minutes until the surface is completely golden brown.
Serve hot.
Notes
Of course, you can use the type of cheese you like most, as long as it’s hard cheese, otherwise, it will melt in the pan. The same goes for the cold cuts; you can fill your Pie with salami, prosciutto, or turkey slices.
