  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 People
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 3.5 lbs sea bass (4 whole sea bass about 14 oz each)
  • 4.4 lbs coarse salt
  • to taste olive oil

Steps

  • Wash and gut the sea bass.

  • Take a rectangular baking tray of 12×9 inches, cover it with parchment paper and make a layer of coarse salt on the bottom. Place the cleaned sea bass on top.

  • Our sea bass fit in one tray. You can add some herbs inside if you wish, but it’s completely optional.

  • Now cover them well with the remaining salt. There should not be any part uncovered, otherwise, they might burn.

  • Bake in the oven at 356°F for about an hour.

  • You’ll know it’s done when the crust feels hard and compact when tapped with a spoon.

  • Thoroughly clean the sea bass from all the salt, removing it with a spoon and placing it in a bowl.

  • All that’s left is to clean the sea bass by removing the skin, bones, and head. You can dress the sea bass with a little olive oil or enjoy it with a sauce of your choice.
