Sausage Ragù is one of my daughter’s favorite sauces. She would eat pasta with ragù every day, but this one remains her favorite.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 30 Minutes
- Portions: 4 people
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 7 oz sausage
- 1 2/3 cups tomato puree
- 1 carrot (about 2.5 oz)
- 1 onion (about 1.8 oz)
- 3 pinches fine salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 pinches sugar
- 3/4 cup water
Preparation
Wash the celery and carrots, clean them and cut them into very small cubes.
In a pot, add the oil and sauté the vegetables for a few minutes.
Now add the sausage, from which you have removed the skin, and try to crumble it as much as possible.
At this point, pour in the tomato sauce, salt, sugar, water and cook for about an hour with the lid on, stirring occasionally with a slotted spoon.
If it becomes too dry, add a little more water.
Suggestions/Tips
The amount of meat can vary according to your personal taste, as can the cooking time, since the longer it cooks, the more the ragù will thicken.
With these quantities, you will get about 21 oz of ragù.
