I saw this idea and wanted to try it, and I have to admit that I find it really cute: this Savory Puff Pastry Intestine (Halloween) is easy to make but definitely impressive! To make it even more realistic, you can add a bit of ketchup after baking in the folds of the puff pastry. A cute idea for those who want to have fun with this holiday, obviously without taking anything away from our traditions. So try it too!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 30 Minutes
- Portions: 4 people
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry (rectangular, 9.35 oz)
- 1.75 oz emmental cheese (sliced)
- 1.75 oz cooked ham (sliced)
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- to taste Oregano
Preparation
Place strips of ham on the puff pastry and on top of these slices of cheese.
Fold them to form small stuffed sausages. To better seal the sausage, moisten the puff pastry with a little water.
Now take a square baking tray of 8×8 inches, cover it with parchment paper, and place the filled strips irregularly. You need to give the idea that they are intestines.
Sprinkle with a little tomato sauce flavored with oregano, bake at 356°F for about 25 minutes.
Suggestions/Advice
For the filling, you can also use both the ham and cheese in strips, instead of slices: it will be tastier.
