Yogurt Shortcrust Pastry

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch (maizena)
  • 1 egg (medium)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 packet vanillin (0.4 g)

Preparation

  • Place the flours in a mound with the baking powder, vanillin, and sugar on a pastry board (or in a bowl if you prefer).

    Add the egg, room temperature yogurt, and oil.

  • Knead the ingredients quickly, form a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and place it in the fridge to rest for about half an hour (you can also use it immediately, it will be much softer).

    Use your yogurt shortcrust pastry to make cookies or other treats!

    Be sure to flour the work surface well when you roll it out with the rolling pin.
